ESTABLISHMENT OF NUMERICAL WEATHER PREDICTION CENTER IN AL DHAFRA AIR BASE – UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

EnviMet has been awarded, after hard competition process, WMO P.O. No.    (9-2003) dated 6 February 2003 for the installation and operation of National Numerical Weather Prediction Center in the United Arab Emirates.

The total funds of the project are 188.000$ and for a period of one year.

The project involved the professional services of Dr. A.S.A. Khalil assisted by a team of experts on loan as technical support from the Egyptian Met. Authority to EnviMet, The team was composed of:

• Dr. Nagy Taha EL Hosary (Ph.D) Assistant team leader
• Mr. Adel Mahmoud Awad (Ph.D) NWP specialist

The project was implemented timely and successful under WMO supervision
